Well I haven't posted on here really about how the pregnancy has gone. We have had many ups and downs this pregnancy, with the biggest thing being our little guy has been well.... little. We have had to do quite a few ultrasounds to really watch his growth because it has been a worry. At our last ultrasound in the end of February, he was right on track and things started to not look so scary.
Well now fast forward to yesterday. I went to my 36 week appointment (not my favorite appointment because you get checked for the first time) and my uterus was measuring 4 weeks behind. Many of you have commented on how small I am... well that is because I haven't grown in almost 4 weeks. (However I still have been gaining the weight just fine!) We got sent over for an ultrasound, and the ultrasound confirmed that baby is about 3 weeks behind in growth and estimated to be about 4 lb 7 oz. We were sent back over to our doctor where I just figured he would tell me to take it easy and load up on the protein. Well come to find out, we are going to be having our baby boy next week at 37 weeks. Baby has slowed growing, and they think it will be better for baby to be here and getting nourishment because it could be due to my placenta either starting to decay or just not being able to keep up with the baby's needs.
I will admit, I am terrified about having things end up this way, and was not expecting our little guy for at LEAST another 2 weeks. I will be going in Wednesday night to get induced (Brett's last final is that morning), and hopefully baby will be here by Thursday. We could really use prayers during this time for a smooth delivery (my cervix was high and closed yesterday) and a healthy baby! We do love you all, and appreciate all that you have done for us throughout the last couple of years following our baby journeys!
Good luck with everything!! We will probably have our baby on Wednesday, too! With high blood pressure concerns they probably want to induce me. I'm being monitored almost every day. But we hope our little girl waits until at least Wednesday afternoon because of Alex's finals. He has another one Friday, but that might be pushing our luck!! Best wishes for us both!!

ReplyDeleteLife is just not fair sometimes! I am sorry you have to be worried right now, but I am earnestly praying that everything works out well. It will be better to have a healthy baby here a little earlier than planned than have to be worried any longer than necessary. Love you!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that it is baby time. Good luck! You can do this! I wish I could say that the worrying will end once he is here safe and sound but I think that's just part of being a mom... always worrying about your kids! Of course I realize you probably have a little more reason to be nervous than most but I have a good feeling about it for you this time! :) We can't wait to meet him when he is here. Let us know!
